It was nice to be part of a community of other writers in my genre. I received a lot of insight from the other participants about how to make my story better. I was glad to share some of what I've learned over the years about writing, which they found helpful. EYR's community reinforced a need to find and participate in a writing community.

Writing is an isolated process. It is extremely helpful to test what is in your head and in your manuscript with another set of eyes to see if you are communicating what you intend.

I was initially apprehensive about the "group" aspect of the program — you know, the whole fearing judgment and comparison thing — but my fears were unfounded as it was a SAFE community. My fellow writers never judged, always encouraged, and everyone stayed in their lane unless invited to give feedback. Gina sets clear guidelines and boundaries, and it allowed me to become comfortable with putting my work out there. Realizing that other writers had similar struggles made me feel that we were all in it together.
